Children’s Film FestivalsFebruary: Animated ExeterAnimated Exeter takes place in February each year. Every year the festival runs a competition for under 18's animation called Examinations. It's open to children and young people’s animation workshops, school groups or individuals based in the South West of England.
Visit February: Animated Exeter Website March/ April: Leeds Young People’s Film Festival Taking place in the Easter holidays each year there is a great selection of films for young people to watch and a variety of workshops to take part in. As young people work alongside the festival organisors to plan the festival this really is a festival for young people, by young people! It is the largest and longest-established kids’ film festival in Great Britain and there is always a wonderful variety of films to watch and activities to take part in. Visit June / July: Showcomotion Website August: Family Friendly Film FestivalThe Family Friendly Film Festival takes place in August in parks, cinemas and community centres across Manchester. There's screenings of children's films and family workshops where you can learn filmmaking and animation skills. Visit August: Family Friendly Film Festival Website October: Cooperative Young Filmmakers FestivalThe Co-operative Young Film-Makers Festival shows films made by young people aged 21 or under at the National Media Museum. The event is a forum for young filmmakers where they can view each other's work take part in masterclasses and meet special guests.

takes place at Dundee Contemporary Arts. The Festival aims to show films from around the world that young people won't have seen before, there's events and workshops and young people can submit their own films to be shown at the festival too!
