First Light Movies is the organisation that runs Film Street; it is also the UK Film Council's largest funder of young people's filmmaking allocating £700,000 of National Lottery money every year.

First Light Movies distributes funding through two main production funding schemes, the Pilot and Studio Awards and for those looking for support developing first ideas, 'What's the Big Idea?'

Application deadlines:
'What’s the Big Idea?'and the Pilot Award schemes will are open for submissions now!
The next deadline for applications is Tuesday 16 September and funding decisions will be announced on Tuesday 11 November 2008.
Studio Award: The scheme will reopen for submissions on Thursday 14 August 2008.
The next deadline is Tuesday 14 October and funding decisions will be announced on Wednesday 17 December 2008.
